The worst in Illinois

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Groucho Marx said, “I don’t want to belong to any club that will accept people like me as a member.”

I can see what he was getting at. I fucked up big. My grades for the last semester were published online last week and I didn’t do myself any favors there. But, what is really bugging me is my GRE Math score. I earned myself a score so low that I could easily be the worst in the state. Maybe even the Midwest. Months of studying could have been easily replaced with just filling in C for all answers. I wish I was exaggerating.
So here I am. I’ve paid the fee and applied to several schools but now I’m embarrassed by my transcripts and my test scores. I don’t want to attend the kind of school that would accept someone like me…assuming any of them would. So far this winter sucks.

At semesters end

Tamales, image from wikipediaThis semester didn’t go exactly as planned. In fact it was a total disaster. Instead of finishing off my transcripts for grad school with a pair of A’s, I’m praying I pass both classes.
Deadlines are getting closer. Hopefully, my recommendation letters are almost done. My final transcripts should make it into the mail next week along with my GRE results.
Well, it’s out of my hands now. Time to unwind and enjoy the holidays and make tamales.
